Never to early to learn photography…

My Isabella will be 4 years old next month.  After watching the “Spectacular Spider-man: cartoon for few months now she has decided that she will become Spider-man be swings high in the air and takes pictures.  Most of the days she grabs our little point and shoot but in this particular instance she got hold of my DSLR and started snapping…I can totally see a potential for an assistant wedding photographer in the near future.

PHOTOSHOP ACTIONS

Photoshop tends to be very challenging for beginners.   One way to speed up your workflow is to use its Actions panel, to apply certain styling to your images.  This is very easy to do, and Photoshop comes with some default actions out of the gate.  To apply action you should always duplicate the layer your are working on, then go to Actions panel, select the action you want and press the “play” button.  Most actions do not require your interaction and the end result can be seen in just few seconds.  In the future post I will be post some of my own actions that I have created, but today I will show you couple examples of an image processed using actions. This model was shot in natural light.First image is the unprocessed version, second is processed using my own action called SIMPLE SHARP, and third is processed using SIMPLE SHARP and a default Photoshop action called SEPIA TONING.  As you can see you definitely get creative and fast with Photoshop.

As always I invite you to come and check out my work at http://tomadamczyk.com

Photographing “little” wedding details. Pouring of the sand.

Besides the obvious pictures of the bride groom and the family and friends, wedding photographer of today must pay attention to, what I like to call “little” details.  Unity candles or pouring of the sand is a short and fast part of any wedding but it is one of the most important parts of the ceremony.  A good photographer will try to capture this from few different angles.  Here is my attempt at the last wedding I photographed.

Macro photography

What is macro photography.  It simply means taking very small objects and making them appear bigger.  There are several ways to do this.  Get a true macro lens, get extension tubes, or lens magnifiers.  The first option is usually the easiest but probably least economical as these lenses can cost upward of $600.  Lens magnifiers tend to be of lesser quality (with some exceptions) and thus you can loose some fine detail.  Extension tubes are my choice of the macro photography, as they are somewhere in the middle of pricing between the other two options and can be attached to virtually any lens you have for your particular system.  I use Canon gear and glass and all my lenses mount to the extension tube with ease.  There are few photos attached here that were done with the 36mm auto focus extension tube from E-bay.  At about $100 you can see that results are pretty good, and could be better if I have used a tripod and did not have to compress the photos for this post.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at info@tomadamczyk.com and please check out my website at http://tomadamczyk.com .P.S My little sis has a birthday today.  Happy birthday Jola, hope you have a great one.

Sunflower Photoshop Modification

A simple sunflower can be turned into a work of art with the use of Photoshop.  Taking a bit of color out or swapping it for a a totally different tone, can give you very dramatic look.  Here is one of my first images of this particular flower taken several years ago, only now I have taken such liberty with post processing.  The last version is my personal favorite. As always please see more work at http://tomadamczyk.com  and http://blog.tomadamczyk.com

Bridal Shoes

Here are 3 versions of the same photo that I worked on in Photoshop Lightroom.I can’t decide which version I like better, I am leaning to the first (color) photo.I think the the colors themselves make this a great image.undefinedundefinedundefinedAs always please visit http://tomadamczyk.com to check out my main site.
